3G hasn’t yet completely adopted in India. Folks say, it’s because 3G is very costly as compared to the other Data Plans, and also the data connection gets lost most of the times.

Is the Kindle Fire 2 an another Failed ‘iPad Killer’ with the Updates Being Promised?

Kindle Fire Tablet is the latest version of the famous Kindle fire eBook reader that was produced in 2011. Recently, Amazon announced that it promises updates, which will make this tablet even better. It will comprise of multi-touch features; but this gives rise to the big question. Is Kindle Fire another failed ‘iPad Killer’?

Is the Kindle Fire an iPad Killer - iPad vs Kindle Fire
Is the Kindle Fire an iPad Killer - iPad vs Kindle Fire

A spokesman for Amazon said that the company will run an over-the-air software update for Kindle Fire. The possibilities with this are still uncertain, however if this works well enough a lot can be achieved. Even New York Times has been keeping up with the latest developments as they unfold. The company has published reviews about the product on their website. It seems that these reviews are very positive and the Kindle Fire is over-taking the iPad.

According to reviews, the reason behind this success is the pricing. It seems Kindle Fire is becoming an iPad killer because its prices are nominal compared to that of the iPad. Why won’t users opt for the Kindle Fire, which has most things an iPad has and at cheap prices? Besides, users have shared the same opinion over the internet. They all say that Kindle Fire is a spectacular device that makes them proud.

They can use the internet, have web meetings, browse and download eBooks all at the same time.

Amazon Kindle Fire

According to Amazon representatives, Chicago Sun Times and Gizmodo also advertise Kindle Fire with new updates as the best device for internet use. However, according to Times it seems there are some less complementary comments to be seen. Nonetheless, with all good things, there are some pitfalls. While most users praise Kindle Fire, there will always be some disgruntled users.

What most users like about the Kindle Fire is that it is small and easy to use with a Mediocre Touchpad. This makes it good for kids as well. Most parents feel it helps their kids learn new things faster as it is easy to use. On the other hand, criticism comes from users who want Kindle Fire to have a camera. With such comments, the rating of Kindle Fire comes at four out of five. Regardless, it is still over-taking the iPad.

Times news reported that the most common complaint most users had about Kindle Fire was that the tablet lacked external sound control. Besides, the off switch could easily be triggered accidentally. Some also complained that the web pages took longer to load. The touch-screen often fails to respond as expected.

Despite quite a number of complaints, Kindle Fire has proved itself as a preferred choice by millions within a short frame of time. People say it is a far better option than the iPad.

Nielsen thumbs down Kindle Fire and thumbs up iPad
Nielsen thumbs down Kindle Fire and thumbs up iPad

The usability expert, Nielsen had a different opinion as compared to what seems obvious. He mentioned that the US$100 billion worth of global market for the tablet was disappointing. He expressed his personal opinion that Kindle Fire was going to be a big failure. Therefore, he wouldn’t recommend it for people.

This raises more curiosity about how Amazon had made millions of dollars through marketing Kindle Fire. Obviously, there seems to be hope for the Kindle because need for digital technology continues to grow. So far, the market for Kindle Fire seems to be growing as demand for latest technology keeps growing. It is likely that Nielsen’s predictions fail and Kindle succeeds as an iPad Killer.

There is also the possibility that Kindle may not be a great success as its inventor hopes. However, for now it sure is making a reputation as the iPad Killer. Most iPad users have also started taking an interest in Kindle. However, the fact is that Kindle Fire is most popular among the youth that is fond of reading eBooks.

Best Internet Providers Cracking Down On Pirates where Database Will Be Kept Independently

Introduction

Piracy of online data is among the foremost concerns facing internet providers. The pirates ‘steal’ the data they are not authorized to use for free. For several years now, the ISPs have been looking for an effective way to get rid of this problem for good. The harder they try, the more illegal file and data sharing websites emerge on the internet. A pleasant sign has been the crack down on pirates by some of the best internet providers in the country. Companies like Time Warner Cable have an extensive clientele. If they can stop their customers from engaging in internet piracy, the problem can be dealt with. Each internet provider will have to step up to the plate and take a shot. Not one of the best internet providers including Time Warner Cable can claim that none of their customers are pirates. It is a hard fact that has to be accepted before it can be taken care of.

The Entertainment Industry: Piracy’s Biggest Victim

Best Internet Providers Cracking Down On Pirates where Database Will Be Independently Kept
Best Internet Providers Cracking Down On Pirates where Database Will Be Independently Kept

The entertainment industry is the biggest victim of online piracy. With website providing free music, movies and games to people, they don’t want to pay for them. The internet networks are used to obtain the content and then distribute it further. The music, movies and other intellectual properties are under copyright and a person has to pay to enjoy them. Internet piracy offers them a way around paying and they make full use of it.

The problem lies with the pirates. They don’t realize what they are doing is wrong. Their point of view is that they are being overcharged for entertainment. In the recession, people can’t afford to pay too much for leisure and entertainment. Yet, using illegal means to do so is not the solution. They have to be enlightened about the impact their actions have on the entertainment industry. It is a major blow to the music and film industry as they lose out on millions of dollars.

ISP cracking down the piracy

However, mere education is not going to get rid of the problem for good. Internet providers have to be robust in dealing with the pirates. That is what they intend to do by working in conjunction with leading companies in the entertainment industry. In consensus with the major media groups, the internet providers are developing strict policies to deal with piracy. The aim is to stop illegal downloading and distribution and protect the copyrighted content online.

Groups such as the Motion Pictures Association of America (MPAA) are already on board. The proposed solution is to restrict illegal downloads. The people doing so will be warned six times. They will be sent six messages warning them that they have been caught. Being called ‘Copyright Alerts’ so far, the messages give the user a chance to stop. Else, action will be taken against them. The resultant action would be to slow internet speed or redirecting them to a different web page.

There are certain glitches in the system so far. Users who have not been downloading illegal content can also receive the messages by mistake. In such cases, they have to contact their internet provider to review the messages that have been sent.

Center for Copyright Information: Educating Pirates

Center for Copyright Information
Center for Copyright Information

To boost the efforts of the internet and entertainment companies to crack down on piracy, a new organization is being formed. Known as the Center for Copyright Information, its chief purpose is to educate the pirates about the extent of their wrongdoings and the negative effects. Moreover, the organization will be responsible for implementing the new policies that are to be decided by the internet providers and media groups.

Through the organization, people will get to know if their internet connection is being used for piracy by someone else. Furthermore, they have a chance to make amends if they are engaged in piracy themselves. With the right education, people can save themselves from being victims of pirates and also be convinced to never infringe copyrights. Only when the policies are implemented will a clearer picture emerge. For now, the organization is being set up, paid for by internet providers and media groups.

By cracking down on piracy where databases will be independently kept, the best internet providers are protecting the interests of copyright holders as well as preventing common users from illegal downloading.

To display what kind of the future flats would be developed, DDA has also built a block of 60 sample flats for the EWS (Economical Weaker Sections). These Sample flats have 1 Bedroom, a Kitchen, a Bathroom with Ceramic Tiles and a lobby area. Each building has five floors in it.

On the very first time, DDA is using new Prefabricated Technology to construct almost 1 Lac Flats.

Prefabricated Home Technology - House on Wheels - 1

Example Prefabricated Home Technology – House on Wheels

Prefabricated Technology uses Natural Cement, Portable Slabs, Staircases, Beams, Precast Columns etc which could be easily shipped and assembled. The Houses which are developed by using this Prefabricated Technology, are known as the Prefabricated Homes [or Prefab Homes or 3 S Technology (Speed, Safety and Sustainability)]. Prefabricated Technology is considered to be environmental friendly, as use of timber is completely eliminated in developing such homes.

Such homes typically take 2 to 3 months to get built.

By using this portable technology, DDA will save a huge amount of time and money as well.

Other Benefits :
1. Expenditure will be lowered by 25-40%
2. Provides Relief from the problems of Strong Winds, Fire and Water Problems
3. Effective in Earthquake Prone Areas as well.

Apart from the Flats in Sector 23 (Dwarka), DDA is also bringing around 11000 flats in Rohini, 6000 flats in Narela and Najafgarh by using the same Prefab Home Technology. The tentative completion year for this project is 2014.

The Union Cabinet Minister of Urban Development, Kamal Nath, has said to Original Tips, that DDA has taken a nice initiative by bringing such scheme for the Economical Weaker Sections.

First this technology will be used only in the EWS and LIG Flats, but if it gets success, then MIG and HIG Flats will also be constructed by using the same Prefab Home Technology.

Tentative Cost for Flats : As per DDA Officials, 1-Room flats are estimated to cost about Rs.4 Lacs. To get profit, DDA will sell them at a price of Rs.4.5 Lacs. While 2-Room Flats will be sold at Rs.9 Lacs.
