Super 30 – Free Coaching Centre for economically poor students for IIT-JEE : An Initiative from Anand Kumar from Patna, Bihar

Super 30 (An Indian Educational Program which was started at Patna, Bihar) provides free coaching to the IIT-JEE Aspirants.

Anand kumar (Founder of Super 30) established the Ramanujan School of Mathematics in the year 2002. Each year, Super 30 selects only 30 talented and meritorious students, which are from the economical backward classes. Thereafter it trains them for the entrance examination of IIT-JEE (Indian Institute of Engineering – Joint Entrance Examination).

Lets come to the achievements of Super 30 :

1. Anand Kumar has received the Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad Shiksha Puraskar (A Top Award of Bihar Government) in November 2010

2. Time Magazine has also included the name Super 30 (school of mathematician Anand Kumar) in the list of Best of Asia 2010.

3. Newsweek Magazine has also included mathematician Anand Kumar’s Super 30  school in the list of 4 most innovative schools in the world.

4. Super 30 has also received praise from Rashad Hussain (Special envoy of United States President Barack Obama). He termed Super 30 as the ‘Best” institute in the country.

If you want to upload any video on youtube, which is longer than 15 minutes, then upload it. But once you upload that video, Youtube will show you a message “This video has been removed because it is too long. Sorry about that.”

This problem occurs with the unverified youtube users. Unverified users can only upload videos of length upto 15 Minutes. So to bypass this limit, you need to have a verified youtube account.

Here is the procedure of verifying your youtube account:

1. Log into your youtube account. Then click on Upload button.

2. Now click on the link says “Increase your limit” as shown below, (Or visit directly at http://www.youtube.com/my_videos_upload_verify).

3. Enter your mobile phone number into the relevant text-box.

4. After submitting the mobile phone number, you’ll receive a text-message from Google, which will contain a verification code. Enter that verification code as shown below.

Santosh Hedge – Former Justice of the Supreme Court of India & Lokayukta of Karnataka with Prashant Bhushan – A senior lawyer in the Supreme Court) prepared a draft called Jan Lokpal Bill (People’s Ombudsman Bill), which will provide more power and strict provisions to the Lokpal.

But as the draft got rejected by the Indian National Congress (The Ruling Political Party in India at that time), Anna started an Indefinite Fast at Jantar Mantar stating “I will fast until the Jan Lokpal Bill is passed.”

The Jan-Lokpal movement attracted Media and thousands of people came to support Anna Hazare. The movement was also started in several other countries (like US and UK) in support of Anna Hazare.

After looking at the seriousness of the public, Indian National Congress Government accepted all demands of the movement, and on the very next day they issued a notification to form a joint standing committee, which will work on passing the Jan-Lokpal Bill.

Update (4 Dec 2011) : The standing committee formed by Indian National Congress has prepared a Lokpal bill which is completely different from the original one, what they promised to pass. Anna admitted “The government have betrayed us”. And due to this Anna has decided to start his Indefinite fast again from 27th December. Team Anna has also started a Car Rally in Delhi, as an announcement to his fast.

Movie Directors Hooman Khalili & Patrick Gilles decided to shot the full movie with a set of Nokia N8 Smartphones double-taped to a set of traditional film-camera lenses. Hooman told admitted that to make this work possible, he had to hack the N8 smartphone, to turn off the auto-zoom and auto-focus. As per Hooman, the reason for it was, “Phone Camera thinks that it knows what you want to focus on, but in actual it doesn’t know that.”.
