Q.7. My Jio SIM is not activated. What to do now?
A. If you have got the Jio SIM today itself, then wait for 1 or 2 days. It will be activated by the Reliance Jio Technical Team after verifying your documents/proofs.

If you have taken sim card via LYF phone or via JioFi device, then sim gets activated within 2 to 3 hours or even in 5 to 10 minutes as soon as the store owner uploads your CAF.

But if you got the sim via free preview on 4G phones, activation takes about 1 to 5 days generally, and that too if all your documents are verified and your signature matches.

However if you have already waited for more than 2 days, then look at the Signal Reception Strength of Jio SIM. If the signal strength is there then call on the Reliance Jio Tele-Verification Center at 1977 from your Jio SIM Card.

You should be start using it post tele-verification.

But if you aren’t getting even the signal strength, then restart your phone and look for the signal strength again. If you have tried everything and waited damn long, then try

  • Calling the Reliance Digital Store from where you got the SIM Card to know whether there was any problem in documents verification/submission or something else
  • If the Store says that everything is alright from their end, then just call the Jio Customer Care number – 1800-103-887 or email them at jiocare@ril.com / care@jio.com  to inquire about the status of your SIM activation.

Q.8. What about Jio 4G SIM Support to other Devices?
A. Officially there are no such announcements regarding supporting the other devices on Jio Network as of now. However you can subscribe the comments thread or our newsletter so that we can keep you posted on this as soon as we come to know about any information about further devices or updates.

Q.9. Can I get more than 1 Jio SIM card from 1 LYF (Life) Mobile?
A. Officially No, you can’t get more than 1 Jio SIM card from 1 LYF Mobile phone. But it’s possible via rooting that Mobile Phone and changing the IMEI number.

Q.10. Can I use the Jio SIM by entering Reliance LYF Phone IMEI?
A. Yes, you can use the Jio SIM by using the IMEI of a LYF Mobile Phone, but please make sure your phone must be rooted in order to change the IMEI number.

Q.11. What is the Jio Customer Care Number, Email and Address?
A.
Customer Care No. – 1800-890-1977 (From Other Mobile Phones)
Customer Care No. – 199 (From Jio Sim Card)
E-Mail: care@jio.com
Jio Official Website: http://www.jio.com
Jio Careers Website: http://careers.jio.com

Q.12. Do the sim card providers from Reliance Digital / DX Mini crosscheck for registered IMEI no. before doing registration?
A. Some of the showrooms perform that check, but not all. So you’ll have to kind of hit-and-try with near-around showrooms if any Reliance Digital person asks you about IMEI.
Infact most of the showrooms will now ask you to get the Reliance Jio allowed handset to bring along in order to get the Jio SIM Card.

Q.13. What is VoLTE?
A. VoLTE stands for Voice over Long-Term Evolution, equivalent or even more than 4G technology.

Q.14. Can I use Reliance Jio SIM card in all mobile phones?
A. Yes, you can use it on all 4G and 3G mobile phones. But if your phone doesn’t support VoLTE, then you can install JioJoin app to make VoLTE HD Calls and SMSes via Reliance Jio SIM card.

If you don’t want to use JioJoin, then just wait or ask your mobile phone manufacturer to provide VoLTE update.

Otherwise you would only be able to use the internet if you don’t have a VoLTE phone.

Q.15. What download and upload speeds are coming in the Reliance Jio Speed Test?
A. We have identified that the speed is fluctuating from 10Mbps to 50Mbps as Downloading bandwidth and Upto 8Mbps as Upload Speed/Bandwidth.

Here are some screenshots to prove the same

Jio Speed test as per TRAI Speed Test App

Speedtest.net Jio Speed Test Results

Q.16. Can I use Reliance Jio SIM Card in airtel 4g dongle for using the internet?
A. Yes, you can use Reliance Jio SIM Card in all 4G Dongles but you need to change the Dongle Profile in order to do so.

Q.17. Does JioFi 2 (MiFi) Hotspot Device works? Does it generated heating or gets heat-up if I use it as normal Router for long hours? What’s the review of JioFi by OriginalTips.com?
A. As per our constant usage of JioFi 2 MiFi Device, we observed that it doesn’t heat-up as any other Phone would. It is just like any other Normal Router+Modem, which also gives you method to configure the Wi-Fi Settings as you would do in a Router like MAC Address Filter, TKIP+AES Encryption, Wireless Modes e.g.. B/G/N, B/G, G/N and much more.

Basis our usage of constant 48 hours, we can say that this device is perfect for you, if you are getting pissed-off by the huge Internet/Broadband Data Bills at home or even at office. You can use it as a normal router. This works with a Jio SIM and you can do the Calling and send SMS by installing JioJoin App on your any phone whether 4G, 3G, or even 2G or Wi-Fi Android and iOS Device. JioFi allows you to connect upto 31 Devices wirelessly and 1 device via its Micro-USB to USB (Tethering) port.

All these settings can be changed by visiting the modem IP http://192.168.1.1 or configuration page at: http://jiofi.local.html/

Q.17. What is the Default password for JioFi 2?
A. JioFi does have the default username and password both as administrator

Q.18. What are its disadvantages and advantages of Jio MiFi2 Device?
A. As far as we have used the JioFi 2 Wi-Fi Device, we have come across only one issue that it does restart sometimes (once or twice a day if you are using it continuously for more than 12 hours). Also if you had set-up the static IP Addresses at your PC/Laptop/ Mobile Phones or any other device, this would generate a conflict in few hours. To resolve that just remove the static IP from that device and make it as DHCP (Full form : Dynamic Host Control Protocol)

Q.19. Can I use any other SIM Cards in this device for 4G usage. e.g. Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, Aircel or anything else?
A. Yes, you can use this device to use the 4G Data from any SIM Card, if later-on you find that the commercial plans launched are expensive. It could be done by changing the APN Setting in the Device Configuration Page URL provided above.

Q.20. Why and How Reliance Jio is giving free unlimited 4G when other companies charge hefty amount for the same?
A. Reliance Jio is world’s largest start-up with a funding of Rs.1,50,000 Crore. (Source: Economic Times), and by analyzing this much figure, company has the capability to run such lucrative offers till at-least 2 years.

These offers are actually the demand or need of our Indian Consumers. Currently we get very less benefit in terms of speed and usage data against what we pay. In short, Indian Consumers aren’t getting value for money.

By going this way, Jio wants to dominate the whole Indian Mobile-Internet Market-space, and gain the massive market-share.

And that is the need of hour actually, to create a healthy-competition for the end-users or consumers and bring more value for money for every penny they spend.

Q.21. What will be Reliance Jio 4G rates after 3 months offer expires?
A. As Reliance Jio hasn’t yet revealed the commercial plans, no one can be sure about it. But based on our informal conversation with Jio Officials, we were able to get some sort of hint about pricing.

The price would vary around:

  • Rs.100 per month for 10GB 4G Data & Unlimited Calls (via VoLTE), SMS & all Jio Services like Live TV, On-Demand movies, music, Magazines access etc.
  • Rs.200 per month for 30GB 4G Data with Unlimited VoLTE Calls, SMS & Services
  • Rs.500 per month for 80GB 4G Data with Unlimited VoLTE Calls, SMS & Services
  • Rs.1000 per month for Unlimited 4G Data with Unlimited VoLTE Calls, SMS & Services

Q.22. Why is Jio 4G slow in my city?
A. Jio 4G is under Beta Release as of now, and hence the speed fluctuates from location to location.

The average speed we observed in Delhi (Mahipalpur and Dwarka Area) is around 15 to 60 Mbps.

Jio Speed might be slow in your city or the area you are in currently due to any of the following reasons:

  1. Due to Multiple Apps Using the Data in your phone
  2. Low Network Signal Strength (Tower Connectivity)
  3. In case of JioFi, multiple connected phones or devices divide the speed among themselves

However in Gurgaon we observed speeds around 10 to 12 Mbps.

Q.23. How can I call using Jio VoLTE Technology, if I don’t have True 4G phone?
A. There’s no need to worry, even if you don’t have a VoLTE phone. You can install JioJoin App from Android Play Store or Apple App Store, which allows you to Call and SMS via Jio’s own App. This app can be installed on all the Android and iOS devices.

Q.24. On which platforms, I can use JioJoin App.
A. As of now, JioJoin App only works on Android and iOS both.

Q.25. My JioJoin App always shows offline. What to do?
A. You can try following steps in order to resolve the offline mode issue

  • Exit the App, and restart JioJoin
  • If your problem is still not resolved, restart your phone and start JioJoin. This should resolve all problems, but if it doesn’t,
  • Uninstall the JioJoin App and Install it back

Q.26. JioJoin goes Offline in between calls. What’s the issue and possible resolution?
A. Due to beta or NON-COMMERCIAL release, Jio hasn’t yet got the proper channel quota for placing the calls to other operators. Hence the COAI (Cellular Operators Association of India), the dominant telecom-operators like Airtel, Vodafone, Idea are refusing to provide more channels or slots to Jio to call to their phone numbers, as Jio is commercializing without even launching officially.

Due to this reason the call-drops are very often. Hope this may get resolved very soon.

Also, if there is any single interruption in 4G Service, then also the call will get drop, as all calls are being made via 4G technology, instead of the conventional 2G technology.

Please note these prices are just based on our assumptions, and have no relationship with Reliance Jio.

Q.27. I purchased JioFi Router Device at Rs.2,899 2 weeks ago but it is now being sold in Rs.1,999. Can I get the refund?
A. Yes we at OriginalTips.com are in talk with Reliance Jio to get your Rs.999 money back. Also we have created a petition at Change.orghttps://www.change.org/p/mukesh-ambani-price-drop-equivalent-refund-for-jiofi-devices which you can sign to encourage the justice by the company. Your petition can get all JioFi owners money.

Thanks for your time. Please do not hesitate while asking any further questions about Reliance Jio.

Solution – Got the error: Server Error while trying to obtain a website: Connection refused

Do you ever get such kind of errors on your Mobile Phone or Computer/Laptop while Browsing the Internet?

Do you see something similar to:

Got the error: Server Error
while trying to obtain http://www.google.com/
Connection refused

If yes, then you are not alone. Even we got the same error many times but then we deeply analyzed the issue and here are our observations, which might not help you get it resolved but at-least you will have an idea that why such error is coming. This could be a great help to the Normal Non-Tech-Savvy audience.

Here is the screenshot of a 4G Phone where same issue had forced us to roll our eyes:

Got the error Server Error while trying to obtain a website Connection refused

Steps to Reproduce the Error:

  1. Enable 4G LTE/3G or even 2G on your Smartphone
  2. Browse any website via any of the browsers (e.g. Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Opera Mini etc.) in your Phone or Dongle attached to the Computer/Laptop

Why this error comes:

According to our findings, such error could arise from any or combination of the below reasons:

  1. Issue on Phones and Dongle connected devices like Laptop or Desktop/PC:The Mobile Network Operator can have some issue on the towers nearest to your location, while providing Internet Access to the audience. In our case network operator was Airtel, and we faced this issue while we were traveling in NCR (from Delhi to Gurgaon – Near to Iffco Chowk). The error persisted more than 2 hours in normal day time: 11 AM to 1 PM.
  2. Issue on Phone Only:There might be the case where you have Rooted your Phone and installed Ad-Blocker Plus on it. In this case, if your Ad-Blocker Settings are not updated or not properly saved, it may lead to such kind of errors while browsing the Internet.

What could be the Resolution or Solution to resolve such errors:

  1. If you are getting the Connection refused bug onto your phone even if you haven’t yet changed or modified any core-Android file settings, then there is a high possibility that your Network Operator does have some issues in your locality. To just cross-verify, try Turning-on the Internet Data on another SIM Card, if you have the other. If another SIM can run your Internet, then certainly the issue is with the Network Operator of your previous SIM.Additionally, you can verify with your mate around that whether he/she is able to access the Internet or not.To resolve this, please call onto the Customer Care number of your Network Operator.

Customer Care No. of Different Mobile Network Operators in Delhi/NCR:

    Airtel Customer Care Number – 121 / 198 (Toll-Free), 9810198101 (Prepaid), 9810012345 (Postpaid)

Vodafone (Earlier Hutch/Essar) Customer Care Number – (+91 9811098110 from any phone or 199 chargeable at 50p for 3 minutes for agent access)

Idea Customer Care Number – 12345 (chargeable at 50p for 3 minutes for agent access)

Reliance Customer Care Number – *333 ( Chargeable at 50p / 3 min for Agent assistance ), or call 198 (toll free)

    Aircel Customer Care Number – 121 / 198 (Toll-Free) / 9716012345

BSNL Customer Care Number – Landline Call Center Number ‘1500’ Number ‘1800-345-1500’, BSNL Mobile all India Helpline Number ‘1503’ Number ‘1800-180-1503’

    Tata Docomo Customer Care Number – 1800 266 1515

Telenor India Customer Care Number – 198

MTS India Customer Care Number – 199 (Toll free from MTS) or 9136155155 (Voice), or 9136955955, 1800 2081 955 (Toll free)

    MTNL Customer Care Number – 1500, 1501, 1502, 1503, 1800111503 (Toll-Free)

  2. If above case is not applicable for you, then this must be a case of Rooting and Modifying the Android Native System Files. To resolve such errors,i. Backup your Full Phone-Data
ii. Perform the Factory-Reset to your Phone and Wipe the Internal Memory

This should resolve the problems that could have raised from Rooting and Installing any harmful or malicious apps onto your phone.

Hope this article helps you resolve the connection refused issue while surfing the internet.

Reliance Jio Benefits & Wiki: Everything You Need To Know About – Our Review

Reliance Jio Launch
Reliance Jio Launch

Reliance Jio. Yes, it is the name of that company, which has kind of Revolutionized the Internet Speed and Phone Usage by giving their users Unlimited 4G DataUnlimited Calls and Unlimited SMS.

Reliance Jio has purchased various Frequency Spectrum Bands on which 4G operates e.g. 2300 MHz, 1800 MHz and the most valued 850MHz (The lesser the numbers, more is the coverage area).

So any 4G LTE phone that supports the above mentioned Reliance Jio frequencies that will work with JIO SIM.

Another important aspect of Jio 4G is the Call-Technology, where it works totally different. In the traditional networks viz. Motorola Moto G3 Vs Samsung Galaxy J7 – DNA Test

In India, budget smartphone arena has been enriched with a number of phones hitting the shelves via online as well as offline channels. From Samsung to Lenovo, leading smartphone makers have created a perfect ecosystem for buying an ideal phone with utmost ease. Few days back, the Lenovo-owned company, Motorola unveiled its latest Moto G (Gen 3) in the budget segment. The device packs a combination of top-grade specs and decent pricing, and goes straight against the new selfie-focused beauty from Samsung, Galaxy J7.

While Galaxy J7 packs an improved camera setup, Moto G (Gen 3) focuses more on improved user-experience with smooth and glitch-free performance. Both phones go head to head, but there prices differ by a small margin.

To know whether spending few bucks for Galaxy J7 is worthy or not, check out our detailed comparison featured right below!

Samsung, Galaxy J7-2 Samsung, Galaxy J7-1

Design

In terms of design, Moto G Gen 3 and Samsung Galaxy J7 can be described as two most beautiful phones in the budget segment. Both handsets boast an alluring look from all angles and give a nice grip for less-fiddly operation or gaming. Moto G (2015) looks identical to its predecessor from the front, but features an improved rear panel with a curved strip stretching from the camera module till the bumped Motorola logo. It lighter than Galaxy J7 at 155 grams, and can be customized with a bunch of swappable covers available online.

Samsung Galaxy J7, on the other hand, tips at 7.5mm and looks a whole lot slimmer than Moto G (Gen 3). It looks extremely appealing and comes with anti-smudge anodized CMF coating for giving a premium look without any smudges or fingerprints. It comes in limited color options (Black, White, Gold), but can certainly give best user experience with its slim and compact form factor. On whole, both phones are pretty good in terms of design and build quality!

Display

As far as display capabilities are considered, Moto G (Gen 3) and Galaxy J7 both pack a real punch with their HD-displays. On one hand, Moto G (Gen 3) ships with a 5-inch HD IPS display, protected by Corning Glass 3, while on the other, Galaxy J7 flaunts a bigger 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display, but with no added protection. Also, the smaller display packed with Moto G (2015) features higher pixel density and gives an improved visual experience with rich color rendering and better contrasts. It might not be a super AMOLED, but is still better than Galaxy J7.

Hardware

Under the hood, Moto G (Gen 3) and Samsung Galaxy J7 power up by totally different processors. On one hand, Galaxy J7 powers up by company’s own Exynos 7580 processor with eight cores clocked at 1.5GHz, coupled with 1.5GB of RAM and Mali-T720MP2 GPU, while on the other, Moto G (Gen 3) boasts a Snapdragon 410 processor with four cores clocked at 1.4GHz, paired with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 306GPU. Moto G definitely looks stronger, but considering the faster processor of Galaxy J7, this round will be clear tie between the two phones.

Software

On the software front, Moto G (Gen 3) and Galaxy J7 again go head to head by running the latest iteration of Android straight out-of-the box. On one hand, Moto G runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with a very clean stock-like interface, while on the other, Galaxy J7 runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with improved TouchWiz skin on the top. Both phones work really well, and best user experience without lags or thermal issues!

Camera

For photography enthusiasts, Moto G (Gen 3) and Galaxy J7 are two best camera phones in the budget segment. Both handsets feature identical camera capabilities, and go head to head with a 13-megapixel rear and a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter. They produce ideal snaps under daylight and lowlight conditions, and give prolific photography experience with a bunch of features like, face detection, HDR mode, panorama, and geotagging. But, for selfie lovers, Galaxy J7 with its front-facing flash stands a better option to consider.

Storage

In terms of storage, Moto G (Gen 3) and Galaxy J7 both go head to head with 16GB of internal memory. Both phones offer expandability via micro-SD card, and offer sufficient room for keeping rich collection of apps, docs, and medial files. But if you want more space for keeping a bigger selection of files, Galaxy J7 with expandability by up to 128 gigs will be a better choice Moto G (Gen 3) with expansion just up to 32GB.

Connectivity

On the connectivity front, Galaxy J7 and Moto G (Gen 3) go head to head with options like, Wi-Fi, GPRS/EDGE, A-GPS, 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Bluetooth, and micro-USB 2.0. Both phones give smooth browsing experience, and deliver lightening and upload speeds with improved LTE capabilities. Plus, they also pack a bunch of sensors such as, accelerometer, ambient light sensors, proximity sensor, and gyroscope.

Battery

In terms of power efficiency, Moto G (Gen 3) looks a little weak against Samsung Galaxy J7. The selfie-focused beauty from Samsung is backed by a long-lasting 3000mAh battery, while Moto G (Gen 3) houses a very small 2,470mAh battery. No doubt, Moto G can also hold sufficient amount of juice throughout the day. But, if you want more power for heavy usage, Galaxy J7 is surely a better choice to consider.

Price

Here in India, Moto G 3rd Generation is offered at Rs. 12,999, while Galaxy J7 is coming at a slightly higher Rs. 14,999. Both phones were launched as a Flipkart exclusive product, and are currently available with several offers from both companies.

Final Verdict

The face-off between Moto G (Gen 3) and Galaxy J7 was close, but in our opinion, the new Moto G looks like a better player against Galaxy J7. Apart from smaller battery life, the waterproof friend from Motorola serves well under all categories. It packs real powerful with more RAM, and looks extremely beautiful with a sharp display and customizable rear panels.

No doubt, Galaxy J7 is also a nice handset, but spending extra bucks for a bigger display, expandable memory, and front-facing flash is surely not a thing for most of us!
